چکیده

Host–guest chemistry encompasses the study of highly structured molecular complexes composed of at least two entities associated by noncovalent interactions, one possessing convergent binding sites, the host, and another possessing divergent binding sites, the guest. Among other species, the host can be a crown ether, calixarene, or metallacycle, whereas the guest can be virtually any small-tomedium size species. The host molecule recognizes those guest entities that contain the array of binding sites and steric features that complement it, with coupling interactions varying from ion–multipole to dispersion forces.

Design of a flexible organometallic tecton: host-guest chemistry with picric acid and self-assembly of platinum macrocycles.

The synthesis and characterization of a new pyrazine-based "flexible" and ditopic platinum(ii) organometallic molecule (3) is being reported. Flexibility in this molecule is due to the presence of ether functional groups that bridge the rigid core and periphery. Due to the presence of square planar Pt(ii) centers at the two ends, the molecule's potential to act as an acceptor building block in ...

Investigate formation constant of some Amino Acids by p-sulphonato-calix (4) arene in Aqueous Solution

The formation constants (log K), of the complexes formed between a number of amino acids(glycine , L-valine and L-alanine) with p-sulfonatocalix [4] arene at varying temperatures (25± 0.1to 65 ± 0.1 °C) in aqueous solutions and at natural pH of p-sulphonato-calix [4] arene (pH=3.2) bymeans of UV-Vis spectrophotometeric technique have been investigated. At this pH the guestmolecule is in its cat...

Engineering Nano-aggregates: β-Cyclodextrin Facilitates the Thiol-Gold Nanoparticle Self-Assembly

The structure and morphology of nonmaterial formed by colloidal synthesis represent a subject of interest as it is a factor deciding the physicochemical properties and biological applications of nanostructures. Among various nanoparticles, gold can develop fractal assembled patterns. Herein, we report a nano-aggregate of a thiol-on-gold self-assembled structure and the influence of β-cyclodextr...

Cucurbit[n]uril-Based Microcapsules Self-Assembled within Microfluidic Droplets: A Versatile Approach for Supramolecular Architectures and Materials

Microencapsulation is a fundamental concept behind a wide range of daily applications ranging from paints, adhesives, and pesticides to targeted drug delivery, transport of vaccines, and self-healing concretes. The beauty of microfluidics to generate microcapsules arises from the capability of fabricating monodisperse and micrometer-scale droplets, which can lead to microcapsules/particles with...
